I starting a new project and am considering using either CSLA.Net or LLBLGen as my business objects / data access layer. I know each framework has its advantages and disadvantages in terms of the framework itself, but primarily, for this thread, I'm interested in how well each supports and is supported by databinding with RadGrid.
I searched the forums and found postings, but most were a couple of years back. The problems being described seemed to have relatively "solvable" fixes and some others talked about enhances being added to Telerik tools that would address said problems. I know Telerik does an outstanding job of constantly enhancing their tools, so I don't know if the lack of newer postings is due to both framework enjoying fully functional and compatible databinding or for some other reason...?
My questions are... does anyone have experiences they would like to share regarding each (or ideally both) with respect to databinding? If there are definite things to consider for either, that would be great too. I am most interested in sorting, filtering, and optimized custom paging through their respective datacontrols.
After that, any general thoughts would also be appreciated, but I wanted the primary concern to be addressed first.
I would love to hear from Telerik staff that the support requests have gone away because both frameworks are working perfectly with RadGrid. :)

We have invested decent amount of time to address all reported inconsistencies concerning interoperability of RadGrid for ASP.NET AJAX with CSLA.Net, LLBLGen, ObjectContainerDataSource and other types of widely used/popular data source controls. You can browse our public forums to gather more details about this process in the past.
I assume that there are no other known issues with our web grid and these data source controls since we have not received reports for such from quite some time. If you encounter any particular problems when configuring RadGrid with one of these data sources, feel free to write us back and we will gladly assist you in solving them.
On a side note, you may also be interested in evaluating our OpenAccess ORM product (and the OpenAccessDataSource control respectively) to see whether it can fit in your project schema. It also provides seemless interoperability with our webforms and winforms grids.

Thank you very much for your reply. I did go through old forum postings and try to assess they types of requests and their solutions. Since you guys do such a great job with everything else, I assumed that all innoperability issues had been resolved since I didn't see much else going on in the forums with respect to that. But as you know, an assumption is a dangerous thing, and I wanted a little bit of reassurance.... and you gave that to me. Thanks again!

I'm using CSLA in a current project for a client and have had no issues at all with the databinding, whether to grids or other objects. It's been a real good fit for me.
