[Solved] Changing the appearance of an appointment programmatically

I'd like to change the way an appointment appears based on some internal logic. Essentially, all I want to do is 'colour' the appointment like you do in your demo code for resources.

The point is though, that my styling decisions have nothing to do with resources.

Is there any way of invoking the necessary functionality to do the equivalent of declaratively calling rsCategoryGreen?

FYI, this is using 2009 Q1.

Hello Stuart Hemming,

You should just set the CssClass property of your appointment to the desired value - "rsCategoryGreen" for example.

Many thanks. For some reason I was looking for a much more complex solution than that.

I have a couple of follow-up questions, if you wouldn't mind.

1. Can you give me a full list of the class names I can use for this?

2. What do I have to do to get this to work if I'm using and external skin? (currently, I'm using the internal Office2007 skin)

Please check this blog post by RadScheduler's lead developer Tsvetomir Tsonev. It delves in appointment styling.

Working with styles is the same as with external skins. You just need to make sure you have the required CSS in the external skin (which you would if you use some of the built-in skins).

I was just on the point of posting to say I'd found that.

I understand that. What I don;t know is how the classes are defined. They certainly aren't in the Q! 2009 skin file for Office2007!

OK. I can see that these classes aren't in any of the specific skin files. They are in the generic Scheduler.css file however. What we don't have are the associated image files, eg. "Scheduler/rsAppointmentBlueBg.png".

Can these a) be made available here and b) included in the next release as standard?

Hi Stuart Hemming,

The files are available if you have installed Q1 2009 SP1. They are in the [Install Location]\Skins\Common\Scheduler folder. Unfortunately there is a problem and the path is wrong in the Scheduler.css file. It should be "Common/Scheduler/rsAppointmentBlueBg.png". We will try to address that issue.
