Hi,

We are designing new master pages and swapping out the sharepoint navigation controls with the Telerik RadPanelBar nav. control. I am doing this is collaboration with a colleague in the UK. The problem arises in Designer, where he can see the common tasks panel for the control, which include options to configure Data source, Databindings, Ajax resources such as skin, and so on... whereas I do not see this panel at all. We are both using the same version of Designer accessing the same masterpage on the same server.

Has anyone come across this problem before? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Alon

Hi Alon,

What happens when you right click on the panelbar and click on the Properties?
I can see the properties without problems.

Hi,

I tried that but still only see the standard designer panel. I don't see any of the links such as Build RadPanelBar... or Add RadAjaxManager etc..

Thanks,
Alon

Hi Alon,

In design time when I right click over the PanelBar or just click on the SmartTag I see the appropriate menu.

Please see the attached screenshot.

I"m currently experiencing the exact same issue.

I'm attempting to integrate the RadMenu into a SharePoint 2007 master page using SharePoint Designer.  The menu appears fine and I see the list of RadControls in the Toolbox.  However, when I select the RadMenu control in the Design mode, the only option available under "radmenu common tasks" is to "Edit Templates".  The option to BuildRadMenu and other links are not listed at all.

Currently we have your RadEditor for Moss installed and funcationing fine.  The Telerik.Web.Design.dll and Telerik.web.ui.dll are in the Gac and have been added as "Safe Controls" and the telerik.web.ui has been registered in the master page I'm working on.  The RadMenu for the topsites displays fine.  I'm just not able to manipulate the controls from a GUI perspective but apparently I can add properties in the Code view and see their effects.

Also, clicking on "Properties" doesn't show any properties on the left side of the GUI where they can be manipulated.

Your assistance is appreciated.

Thanks,
O. Muftah

Hello Muftah,

As I understand from your explanation - you have deployed RadControls for ASP.NET Ajax under SharePoint 2007 correctly.
There has to be something else that causes this issue to appear.

I tried to reproduce the issue locally under SharePoint 2007 with a master page that contains RadMenu.  On my side “Common RadMenu Tasks” appear properly in SharePoint Designer when I click on the arrow handle at the right top edge of the RadMenu.

Could you please try setting the view in SharePoint Designer to "Split", select the RadMenu from the markup and then click on the arrow handle under “Design” view?
If the issue persists - can you send me the master page that you use?
What is the version of RadControls for ASP.NET Ajax that you use?
Additionally - please explain in more details what you mean by "I'm just not able to manipulate the controls from a GUI perspective".

Best wishes,
