Hi
I am having some troubles with the Telerik radeditor.
When you make a link in the editor to a SharePoint page and afterwards moving the page to a different location, the link aren't automatically updated.
For an example; If I make a link that will point to \Testsite\test1.aspx, and moving test1.aspx to Testsite2, the link should then point to \Testsite2\test1.aspx instead of pointing to the old location, but it will still point to \Testsite\test1.aspx.

I know that MOSS own content editor web part is supporting it, so I was therefore wondering is there where any way to make radeditor do the same thing.

If it isn't possible at the moment, will it then be in a future version?

Thanks in Advance
/Tommy

Hi Tommy,

Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the issue. I used the latest version of RadEditor for MOSS, which now is 5.6.2. Please upgrade to it. You can find upgrade instructions in the following online help article.
Upgrading to a newer version of RadEditor for MOSS.

Also you should now that I tested this functionality in WCM scenario. Please inform me in what scenario you are experiencing the issue. Is it WCM , webpart, or list (list, wiki, blog...)?

Best wishes,

Hi Telerik
I have recorded a video of how I get the "error".
It can be found here.
It is recorded on a fresh install of MOSS and with RadEditor 5.6.2.
As you can se both links are working at the beginning of the video, but after the move, only the link in the Sharepoint content editor is working.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Tommy,
Thank you for the video. It was helpful indeed. The reason for this behavior is that when the content of the Telerik RadEditor for MOSS webpart is saved, the MOSS content filters, which are modifying the links, are not executed. I logged this problem in our bug-tracking system, so we will work on fixing it. However due the complexity of the problem I can not give you an exact estimation of when a fixed version of the control will be released.

Best wishes,

Hi Stanimir,

I am working on a WCM project where we are using the Telerik RAD Editor for MOSS version 5.7.1. This version has also got this problem. Could you pleace tell me if you got a solution for it or any ideas for a solution?

Kind Regards,

Hi,
I know this is an old thread, but I don't see any solution to this problem, and the movement of a site (SharePoint 2010) has resulted in the same problem (broken links not being updated).

Could you confirm whether this was ever fixed and rolled out to later versions?

Thanks,
Thom

Hello Thom,

I regret to inform you that due to the complexity of this task and the matter that SharePoint's built-in content filters are difficult to be handled with third-party WebParts, this task is still not resolved.

Because of the same reasons I am also unable to provide you the estimate time needed for us to improve the mentioned behavior.

Regards,
Ianko
