Hello Everyone,

I am trying to export data from RadGRID to PDF. Data gets exported to pdf but are unreadable - column data are overlapped - data in col A overlaps data in col B.

Following the is codesnippet I have used - no fancy setting nothing.

   gridPFME.ExportSettings.ExportOnlyData = True
        gridPFME.ExportSettings.IgnorePaging = True
        gridPFME.ExportSettings.OpenInNewWindow = True
        gridPFME.MasterTableView.ExportToPdf()

Please let me know how it should be done so that I will get the readable data in pdf.

Thanks a lot.

Hi everyone,

I am worried about the response time of the Telerik GRID control. May be I have done something drastically not right.

Scenario:
Telerik grid is bound to around 100 records. Grid contains around 20 columns and 14 of them will get converted to drop down list when the user pefers to choose edit button. Grid Edit mode is set to GridEditMode.InPlace. Trouble is it is taking long time to appear in Edit mode. The same applies with update button is clicked. Is there any better way to make it load faster? For the firsttime, Grid is bound to dataTable and for subsequent page request is served via ViewState - datatable is stored in viewstate.

Any hint will be deeply appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi!

I am using the RadEditor with Custom Skin. The skin is an exact copy of the Office2007 skin and has not been altered in any way. My Editor is defined in the asp.net file like this:

<Telerik:RadEditor
    ID="FrontPageTextTextBox"
        runat="server"
        CssClass="taskCommentEditor"
        EnableResize="false"
        EnableEmbeddedSkins="false"
        Skin="Qmanager"
        ToolbarMode="Default"
        ToolsFile="~/XML/EditorToolbars/Simple.xml"
        Width="675px"
        AutoResizeHeight="true"
        Height="180">

    <Languages>
                <Telerik:SpellCheckerLanguage Code="da-DK" Title="Dansk" />
            <Telerik:SpellCheckerLanguage Code="en-US" Title="Engelsk" />
        </Languages>

    <CssFiles>
            <Telerik:EditorCssFile Value="~/Skins/QmanagerDefault/Qmanager/EditorContentArea.css" />
    </CssFiles>
</Telerik:RadEditor>

The Editor works fine and it looks great. I do however get this error, when looking at the traffic in Fiddler (summary):
Result      URL

Please note that the request on line 1 works fine but the request in line 2 returns "404 Not found":

Can you help me with this?

We would like to put the same toolbar on the top and bottom of the page.  What is the best way to do this?

We put the toolbar in the asp content, but add items to it in c# code.  Two toolbars can't have the same ID's.  Is there a better/cleaner way to do this other than having two different toolbars and every time we add an item to one, add it to the other.

Hi,
I would like to display dynamically ToolTip on each RadDataGrid Cells.
To do that, i use the RadToolTipManager like this:

<asp:Label id="fakeControl" runat="server"></asp:Label>
<telerik:RadToolTipManager ID="JMRadToolTipManager" runat="server"
 Position="BottomRight" Animation="Fade"  AutoTooltipfy="False" Skin="Default"
 OnAjaxUpdate="JMRadToolTipManager_OnAjaxUpdate"
  <TargetControls>
    <telerik:ToolTipTargetControl IsClientID="true" TargetControlID="fakeControl"/>
  </TargetControls>
</telerik:RadToolTipManager>

( My Grid are populated with Ajax method after selection some criterias. )
My Telerik:DataGrid componement are wrapped in "asp:UpdatePanel"
On this DataGrid, i'm setting an "onitemdatabound" attribute.
Here, the squeleton of my ASPX code:

<asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanel1" runat="server" UpdateMode="Conditional" >
<ContentTemplate>
   <asp:Label id="fakeControl" runat="server"></asp:Label>
   <telerik:RadToolTipManager>...</telerik:RadToolTipManager>

 <telerik:RadGrid ID="JMRadGridResultstatGlobal" runat="server"
      meta:resourcekey="JMRadGridResultstatGlobalResource1"
      onitemdatabound="JMRadGridResultstatGlobal_ItemDataBound"
  <Columns>
   <telerik:GridBoundColumn AllowFiltering="False" AllowSorting="False"
     DataField="PartyGroupName" Groupable="False" HeaderText="POLES"
      UniqueName="PartyGroupName" meta:resourcekey="GridBoundColumnResource5"
     <HeaderStyle Width="200px" />
     <ItemStyle Width="200px"  HorizontalAlign="Left" VerticalAlign="Middle" />
     </telerik:GridBoundColumn>
     <telerik:GridTemplateColumn AllowFiltering="False" DataType="System.Int64"
           DataField="OnTimeCount" Groupable="False" HeaderText="Nbr OK"
           UniqueName="OnTimeCount" >
       <ItemTemplate>
       <asp:Label ID="lblOnTimeCount" runat="server" Text='<%#Eval("OnTimeCount") %>' meta:resourcekey="GridBoundColumnResource6"
      </asp:Label>
      </ItemTemplate>
      <HeaderStyle Width="30px" />
      <ItemStyle Width="30px" HorizontalAlign="Center" VerticalAlign="Middle" />
...
      </columns>
....
  </telerik:RadGrid>

 </ContentTemplate>
</asp:UpdatePanel>

</telerik:RadGrid>

The ItemDataBound is correctly fired when i populating column on my DataGrid (with RadAjaxManager telerik componment)
In this method, for each DataGrid Cells iterated, i add there clientId property to the TargetControl Collection on my RadToolTipManager like this:

protected void JMRadGridResultstatGlobal_ItemDataBound(object sender, GridItemEventArgs e)
        {
            string clientID = string.Empty;

            if ((e.Item.ItemType == GridItemType.AlternatingItem) || (e.Item.ItemType == GridItemType.Item))
            {
                foreach (GridColumn column in e.Item.OwnerTableView.RenderColumns)
                {
                    string monitoringName = e.Item.Cells[2].Text;
                    string slotType = string.Empty;
                    if (column is GridTemplateColumn)
                    {
                        switch (column.OrderIndex)
                        {
                            case 3:
                                clientID = e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblLateCount").ClientID;
                                //((Label)e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblLateCount")).ToolTip = "ClientId:" + e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblLateCount").ClientID + "";
                                slotType = ResultContainer.SlotTypeList.NO_EXPORT.ToString();
                                break;
                            case 4:
                                clientID = e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblOnTimeCount").ClientID;
                                //((Label)e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblOnTimeCount")).ToolTip = "ClientId:" + e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblOnTimeCount").ClientID + "";
                                slotType = ResultContainer.SlotTypeList.AHEAD.ToString();
                                break;
                            case 5:
                                clientID = e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblAheadCount").ClientID;
                                //((Label)e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblAheadCount")).ToolTip = "ClientId:" + e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblAheadCount").ClientID + "";
                                slotType = ResultContainer.SlotTypeList.LATE.ToString();
                                break;
                            case 6:
                                clientID = e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblNoExportCount").ClientID;
                                //((Label)e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblNoExportCount")).ToolTip = "ClientId:" + e.Item.Cells[column.OrderIndex].FindControl("lblNoExportCount").ClientID + "";
                                slotType = ResultContainer.SlotTypeList.ON_TIME.ToString();
                                break;
                            default:
                                break;
                        }

                        JMRadToolTipManager.TargetControls.Add(clientID, monitoringName + "|" + slotType, true);
                    }
                }

            }
            JMRadToolTipManager.DataBind();

        }

To test my program, i'm setting a BreakPoint to my "JMRadToolTipManager_OnAjaxUpdate" method which is theorically fired when i mouve my mouse over each Cells of my DataGrid.
This method is never fired!!!!!!!!!

Here , the contents of this method:

protected void JMRadToolTipManager_OnAjaxUpdate(object sender, ToolTipUpdateEventArgs args)
        {
            Control ctrl = Page.LoadControl("CustomersList.ascx");
            args.UpdatePanel.ContentTemplateContainer.Controls.Add(ctrl);
            CustomersList details = (CustomersList)ctrl;

            if ((args.Value != null) && (args.Value.Length > 1))
            {
                details.MonitoringName = (args.Value.Split('|'))[0];
                details.Slot = (args.Value.Split('|'))[1];
            }
        }

Note: I use Fake control setting in my code like mentioned in many post of you forums to workAround the problem of TargetCollection Empty which fired the OnAjaxUpdate method on each componement of my ASPX Page.

Could you help me please.

Thank

Using the RadInputManager to style a data entry form form with many asp:Textbox 's on it.  The EnabledCssClass, HoverCssClass, and FocusCssClass properties all appear to be working as expected.  However, I set the InvalidCssClass property does not appear to get used at all.  My aim was to style the textboxes with a custom background and border to indicate those fields left blank.  The fields have the RequiredFieldValidators hooked up and they are working if I show an * next to the field, but the style from the property setting is not.  Any suggestions?  I'm not entirely sure how the RadInputManager would know if a textbox is invalid.

Thanks,
David

Does anyone have an example of a maserpage and web.config file we can look at? As a school system we do not have a "coder" on staff. If we had a full example to look at, we can make it happen, but it has been many years since we have looked through this much code.
we are using moss 07 with sql 2005 cluster backend.
we just want to see where we may be missing the boat on the install.
