Picking Today's Date on RadGrid Inline Insert

I'm using RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX Q2 2009. I have a RadGrid set up with a GridDateTimeColumn with the PickerType="DatePicker" and EditMode="InPlace".

When I click on a row's "Edit' link, the DatePicker shows the correct date from the database in both the box and in the calendar. However, when I click on "Insert" I want the current date to be selected and I can't seem to get that to happen.

In the codebehind page I have this method set up:

I have also tried editedItem["CHECKER_DATE"].Controls[0] as RadDatePicker).SelectedDate = DateTime.Now.Date; with no success.

I've tried some other methods which I've found on Telerik's web site and some other places and I can't seem to get this date to pre-select.

Any ideas of what I can do to make this work.

[Solved] scheduler postback rather than using ajax

    
            I am trying to use the rad scheduler but when I change the view from say day to week (top right) I get a full postback rather than a nice

            ajax update on the page, can someone advise please?

Google Like Filtering In RadGrid

Hi Telerik,

I use the Google Like filtering in my application. It works fine. But I need small changes.
When I first click on the Filter textbox, it loads everything from database and shows it in a Combo.
What I need is at the time of first click on the textbox it should not select any thing from database, because there is heavy load to server, after typing something in that textbox then it should select from database.

So, how to do this. Please suggest.

ResourcePopulationMode = Manual

[Solved] RadMaskedTextBox is blinking on page load

Hello,

if you open that demo, and start clicking Accessing Value under Server-Side API in menu on the left side of the window, after every click the RadMaskedTextBox will blink with red.

How this can be fixed ?

Hi,

First of all, great product!

I've been using the TreeView for a project as the main navigation control. Everything works fine, only one issue left: saving the state when a node collapses. I've applied the code that was in an example that I found here, which uses the session-object and stores the state when a node expands.

My problem has been here before and some solutions were given:

Use an AjaxPanel and register the client node collapse event and when that occurs
Use an AjaxPanel and put the TreeView in that panel and set expand mode to server side

None of those solutions gave my a proper result. The first method made the ajax call @ random. The second method worked BUT only on Windows Server 2003. When I deployed my solution on to another test server running Windows Server 2008, I could only expand or collapse once. After I did that, I couldn't expand or collapse any other node.

I also tried to get the state of all the nodes on the client side, node per node, for using an ajax call to send a 2D javascript array with with the ID & Expand state in. But I could not access the nodes of the treeview, AllNodes property returned undefined.

I really would like to save the state (without a page reload) of the treeview in the session after a node collapse, just like it is possible on a node expanding.

Hopefully someone figured this one out, and share it here!

Scrolling problem of Grid

In master Table there are Many Columns…..all with fixed width

fixed the width of the grid
enabled scrolling
has frozen cols

Cssclass for RadToolTip

Hi,
I am using the Q2 2009 SP1 version of the RadScheduler and am very happy with how the product works. I am looking forward to the upcoming Q3 release.
Anyway my question relates to the predefined styles that are shipped with the product. ie

I think that these are a great way of quickly implementing appointment types and being able to differentiate them using the different styles. In my application I am attempting to use them in conjunction with the RadToolTip however. I was hoping that it would in turn have the same set of styles that we could apply to it. Ie the green appointments would have a green tooltip, etc.

I will probably manually implement each one but wanted to quickly check with both Telerik and the community that someone else hasn't already gone to the trouble.

Combobox enable/disable through JavaScript

Hi,

I want to disable/enable RadComboBox on item selection changes of another RadCombobox.
