Hi!

I'm quite new to Sitefinity and the Telerik RadTreeview control. I am trying to convert an old Sitefinity 3.5 site that uses the RadTreeview control in a menu to the latest version 3.7 SP1. The problem is that it seams that the handling of the skin files for the controls seams to have changed a lot between these versions.

An example:
I'm using the 3DBlue skin for the RadTreeview control. In Sitefinity 3.5 the image files for the 3DBlue skin was placed in the folder  [website]\RadControls\Treeview\Skins\Round\3DBlue. In Sitefinity 3.7 I'm trying to mimic this skin look for the RadTreeview control, but everything seams to have changed. I've created a theme "Bright" for my website and created a folder "Bright" inside the folder "App_Themes". I have created a RadTreeView.skin file in this folder which looks like this:

<%@ Register TagPrefix="telerik" Assembly="Telerik.Web.UI" Namespace="Telerik.Web.UI" %>
<telerik:RadTreeView
    runat="server"
    Skin="3DBlue" EnableEmbeddedSkins="false"
    EnableEmbeddedBaseStylesheet="false">
</telerik:RadTreeView>

There is a Bright.css file in the same folder as the .skin-file, this css handles the theme and the placement of the content boxes in the master page. Also I created a folder called "TreeView" in the same "Bright" folder, and this folder contains the specifics for the skin "3DBlue", which I can't get to work properly...

It has a styles.css file for the skin and also a subfolder "img" which contains the images for the node images, the plus and minus images of nodes in the treeview that have sub nodes, and so on.

The problem is that I can't find current information about how to write the styles.css file to control the specifics of the RadTreeView control (in Sitefinity, the "SiteTreeview" control where I've set the Skin property to "3DBlue", the SiteTreeview is just a wrapper for the RadTreeView contro, right?). I have managed to display some of the node line images, but it seams to be impossible to get the plus and minus images to display properly or to set the distance between the nodes so that the lines becomes a continous line, I've tried to control a lot of different classes in the styles.css but it just doesn't display right, even if I try the !important attribute. I've also tried both Firefox and Internet Explorer and to reload the view with Ctrl+F5 between the changes in the css-file. When I've checked the fabricated style code with Firebug I discovered that the important tags of "rtSp" and rtMinus are empty tags, and that seams to be the reason why my css code for these classes doesn't display anything - how do I control these built in classes in the treeview control?

Part of the generated HTML:
<li class="rtLI">
   <div class="rtMid rtSelected">
      <span class="rtSp"/>
      <span class="rtMinus"/>
      <a class="rtIn" href="test1.aspx">test-root</a>
   </div>
   <ul class="rtUL">
      <li class="rtLI">
      </li>
      <li class="rtLI">
      </li>
      <li class="rtLI rtLast">
      </li>
   </ul>
</li>

Part of my styles.css:
/*
 * RadTreeView 3DBlue skin
 */

#Sidebar .RadTreeView_3DBlue li
{
    background-image: none;
}

/* These images do not display because the tags rtPlus and rtMinus are empty! */
.RadTreeView_3DBlue .rtLines .rtPlus
{
    background: transparent url(img/Plus.gif) 0 0 no-repeat;
}
.RadTreeView_3DBlue .rtLines .rtMinus
{
    background: transparent url(img/Minus.gif) 0 0 no-repeat;
}

/* The selected node is NOT bold, why? */
#Sidebar .RadTreeView_3DBlue .rtSelected .rtIn
{
    text-weight: bold;
}

/* These images DO display properly, but the nodes are too
   far away, leaving a gap between each node line */
.RadTreeView_3DBlue .rtLines .rtTop
{
    background: url(img/TopLine.gif) 0 0 no-repeat;
}
.RadTreeView_3DBlue .rtLines .rtMid
{
    background: url(img/MiddleCrossLine.gif) 0 0 no-repeat;
}
.RadTreeView_3DBlue .rtLines .rtBot
{
    background: url(img/BottomLine.gif) 0 0 no-repeat;
}

Would very much appreciate a clue to what documentation there is about this and where to find it, when I search the web I only find information about older versions of Sitefinity and the skin-handling seams to have changed a lot since then? Some clues or solutions to what I'm doing wrong would also be highly appreciated, I've tried to sort this out for a long time now.

Kind regards!

I'm using version 2009.3.1103.35 and I'm testing in Firefox and IE7.
Here's my schedule markup:

        <telerik:RadScheduler    ID="RadScheduler1"
                                            runat="server"
                                            Height="800"
                                            HoursPanelTimeFormat="htt"
                                            ValidationGroup="RadScheduler1"
                                            Skin="WebBlue" SelectedView="WeekView"
            ShowFullTime="True" StartInsertingInAdvancedForm="True"
            MaximumRecurrenceCandidates="10000" >
            <WebServiceSettings Path="SchedulerWebService.asmx"
                ResourcePopulationMode="ServerSide" />
            <advancedform maximumheight="550px" modal="True"
                enablecustomattributeediting="True" enableresourceediting="False" />
            <AppointmentContextMenuSettings EnableDefault="true" />
        </telerik:RadScheduler>

For some reason I'm seeing that at times the end date calendar doesn't show up at all when I click the calendar control drop down.  I can only alter the text of the date.
I've also been seeing that the end date calendar becomes unresponsive sometimes where I can' change the month using the navigation arrows.

I've been having authentication issues with my web server as well: see this link
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it. I marked the response as an answer because it seemed like things were resolved on my end but I'm getting that error once again.

Hi,

I have a grid control which has some data. I want to export to data to excelML. I have read your demo (http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/grid/examples/generalfeatures/exporting/defaultcs.aspx) and applied it. But could not resolve a problem. When it enters the function:

protected void RadGridOrders_ExcelMLExportRowCreated(object source, Telerik.Web.UI.GridExcelBuilder.GridExportExcelMLRowCreatedArgs e)
        {
            if (e.RowType == Telerik.Web.UI.GridExcelBuilder.GridExportExcelMLRowType.DataRow)
            {
                if (e.Row.Cells[0] != null && ((string)e.Row.Cells[0].Data.DataItem).Contains("U"))
                {
                    e.Row.Cells[0].StyleValue = "MyCustomStyle";
                }
            }
        }

It gives the error "index out of range". There e.Row.Cells.Count is always zero. But when i try to export it to just EXCEL there is no problem. Below is my Grid.

                <telerik:RadGrid ID="RadGridOrders" runat="server" AllowPaging="True"
                Width="95%" OnExcelMLExportStylesCreated="RadGridOrders_ExcelMLExportStylesCreated"
            OnExcelMLExportRowCreated="RadGridOrders_ExcelMLExportRowCreated"
                    DataSourceID="DataSourceOrders" GridLines="None">
                    <ExportSettings ExportOnlyData="True" FileName="SatışRaporları"
                        IgnorePaging="True">
                    </ExportSettings>
                    <MasterTableView Width="100%" AutoGenerateColumns="False">
                        <Columns>
                            <telerik:GridBoundColumn DataField="CalculatedCargoPrice"
                                DataType="System.Decimal" HeaderText="CalculatedCargoPrice" ReadOnly="True"
                                SortExpression="CalculatedCargoPrice" UniqueName="CalculatedCargoPrice">
                            </telerik:GridBoundColumn>
                            <telerik:GridBoundColumn DataField="CalculatedItemPrice"
                                DataType="System.Decimal" HeaderText="CalculatedItemPrice" ReadOnly="True"
                                SortExpression="CalculatedItemPrice" UniqueName="CalculatedItemPrice">
                            </telerik:GridBoundColumn>
                            <telerik:GridBoundColumn DataField="NameSurname" HeaderText="NameSurname"
                                ReadOnly="True" SortExpression="NameSurname" UniqueName="NameSurname">
                            </telerik:GridBoundColumn>
                        </Columns>
                    </MasterTableView>
                </telerik:RadGrid>

I am using LinqDataSource while populating the grid.

Regards.

Hi,

We have some problems to add custom css styles to RadEditor in Moss.
We made a file 'cssEditor.css' in which we defined custom css styles. However the dropdown is still showing us the default 'clear class'.
We tried already different solutions but it still remains the same. We already tried the following : added a line in configfile to point to 'cssEditor.css', added classes to 'toolsfile',.... We use version 5.5.1.0.
CssEditor:

I have a Combobox that is using a tree view for the selectable items. The tree view is populated dynamically from database with load on demand using a web service.

The hierarchy of the tree view is arranged much like a file explorer, with files and folders.

I do not want to allow the user to select a folder, but only a file. I have added attributes to each node to set the proper image icon to be a folder or a file, etc.

How can I disable clicking on a node that has an attribute that indicates it is a folder?

I'm using a dynamically added grid, and handing the grid a dataset during the NeedDataSource event.  The contents of that dataset can change based on some other controls I have for filtering.

Grouping and paging and ajax are enabled, and all seem to work fine.  The problem is the footer at the bottom always says the original row and page count.  So if I hand the grid a 16 row dataset in NeedDataSource, and then in the next call a 1 row dataset, the footer still says displaying page "Displaying page 1 of 2, items 1 to 15 of 16."

Turning gird viewstate on and off did not help, nor did setting the grid datasource to Null and doing a Rebind().

Is there some way to force the footer to refresh?

I've started creating components and registering event handlers for the telerik controls as functions in my components. The problem is that the this keyword in my function does not point to my class so I can't reference other functions in my class. I've read that there are some addHandler methods out there that people have written to resolve this issue but wanted to ping the Telerik community to see if there is a best practice for dealing with this for telerik and/pr ms ajax solutions.

Example addHandler method to resolve this:

flexible javascript events

There is also this that I can try as well:

bindAsEventListener

I can use one of these (although I would want to find the version without the memory leak) but wanted to see if there is a better way to register telerik events to functions in custom ms ajax components that make the this keyword reference the class the function is contained within.

Hi

I am showing a pdf file in a window, but I can't persuade the title bar to show
anything but the pdf filename.  I have set the window Title property with the required text
declaratively, but I am not getting it to appear. I also tried code behind onLoad event
RadWindowPDF.Title = "my text" .

What can be wrong?

Thanks

I'll preface this by saying that what I'm after may be similar to the timeline view's TimeLabelSpan, except for slots in resource groupings - if that makes sense.

I have a scheduler control that I'm using to display appointments in timeline view only. Each appointment is assigned a resource and resourcing grouping is enabled.

The timeline view is configured to display 7 days. I have a requirement to modify the view for one of my resources so that there is only one 'slot' for the 7 days being shown. In case that's not clear, I have attached a screenshot of what this might look like.

The points to note are that the top resource grouping has no borders between the day slots and the whole thing would ideally be one table cell with colspan=7 or something.

I'm about to try and do this with some javascript hacks but if there's a 'nice' way of doing this I'd be happy to hear it.
