Hi,

What should I need to do to apply this feature even to newly created sites? I was able to deploy this feature in my site and I am able to use it now in my blog site. But I need a way to automatically apply this feature to newly created sites. What do you suggest I should do?

Thanks!
Arthur

Hi Arthur,

You can easily achieve the desired behavior by changing the scope of the RadEditor features so they can be activated from the Site Collection features. For more information on this topic please, review the following help article:

Change the RadEditor features scope

I hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I tried out what was described in the link you provided but unfortunately it didn't work for me. After doing the steps, I deleted my blog site (not my personal site) then recreated it. But the editor was not applied (but the other exisiting sites are still able to use the editor). I tried if I can activate it in the Site Feature gallery but I didn't find it anywhere.

I'm not sure what the problem is. Any idea?

Regards,
Arthur

Update: After I did an iisreset, the radEditor disappeared even in existing blog sites. =(

Hello Arthur,

After you change the features scope to "Site" (Site Collection level), you need to activate them from the Site Collection features page in your Site Collection settings. After that the editor will be active in all lists in all sites in the site collection.

Hi Lini,

I tried to look for the feature in the gallery but I can't find it anywhere. I tried looking at my blog site settings, then I looked for it at my personal site settings but still it was not there. I even looked at the top level site settings but t no avail.

Thanks,
Arthur

Hello,

Go to the top level site settings and from there select "Site Collection Features" (see the attached screenshot). Make sure both editor features are activated. If you do not see the editor features on the "Site Collection Features" page, then missed something in the list here - http://www.telerik.com/help/radeditormoss/?Change_the_RadEditor_features_scope.html.

All the best,

Hi Lini,

Thank you for your reply. Sorry, I was looking at the wrong page. I did see them at the Site Collection Features page of the top level site. I activated both of them and I tried to check if I can already use them. I deleted my blog site and recreated it but still  it uses the original rich text editor.

I'm really clueless on what to do.

Arthur

Hello Arthur,

I don't know what the problem might be. I tried to do the same here - created a personal site, made sure that the features are activated from site collection features, then created a blog site, and finally click on add new post. The RadEditor was on the add post page and worked OK.

Open the \Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\TEMPLATE\CONTROLTEMPLATES\ folder on your server and check if the RadEditorList.ascx is present there. If yes, then try restarting the MOSS web application and/or the MOSS web application pool.

Greetings,
