How to use SharePoint List for Telerik Reporting Datasource

SharePoint provides types and members in the Microsoft.SharePoint.Client namespace for accessing SharePoint remotely from a client computer or server. To get started with SharePoint client object model you will need Microsoft.SharePoint.Client and Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.Runtime assemblies. You can copy these DLLs from the %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\14\ISAPI folder of the server that runs Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010. Using the Microsoft.SharePoint.Client types you can get access to SharePoint List data. However in order to have design time support (Telerik Reporting Data Explorer, Wizards and Expression editor) with SharePoint as data source, you will need the following SharePointDataSource helper class. Using the RadFileExplorer for ASP.NET AJAX in SharePoint 2010 web parts

This blog post will show how to integrate the RadFileExplorer control for ASP.NET AJAX to work with SharePoint 2010 libraries. If you need a version for MOSS 2007, take a look at this earlier post. By default, the control interfaces with a virtual folder in your web application and allows you to do all kinds of file/folder operations (create new folders, upload/move/delete/rename items, preview, etc.). This weekend, Telerik sponsored the SharePoint Saturday event in Brisbane, Australia (#SPSBNE). The terrible day of Rapture (Thousands said goodbye to family and friends ahead of 6pm Saturday deadline) was on this day and it was all over the news. So I was a bit worried if I should spend the last day of the world here, but Mike Rhodes had said we had lots of great speakers and I was looking forward to meeting them.  Figure: I could not resist the temptation to see those speakers The day started out with a bang and it went from strength to strength. I found it was...

The new MS Office and SharePoint release is just around the corner, and I want to assure everyone that we will provide full support for SP 2010 in our next RadControls release - Q2 2010. We have already put up a page with information about the new SP release. You can find all the information you need at the SharePoint product page on our site. In this post I will talk about the ASP.NET AJAX controls, but as you will see on the product page, we will also offer support for our Silverlight UI controls.   The most important thing I want to...

RadControls for ASP.NET Ajax in SharePoint 2007 and DotNetNuke

SharePoint We recently pulled out a sample SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) site which shows RadControls for ASP.NET Ajax working in SharePoint environment. You can check it out by going to http://sharepoint.telerik.com. This site is a SharePoint Publishing portal. We have modified the master page and replaced the default navigation controls with RadTabStrip and RadPanelbar. The required steps are described in detail in our online documentation. The Corporate section of the SharePoint is utilizing a different master page which incorporates RadMenu and RadTreeView. RadEditor for MOSS also got a major update - go check Stoyans’s blog post for more info. Also we prepared three demo pages showcasing RadScheduler, RadEditor and RadGrid working seamlessly in SharePoint. The main challenge here was to get...
