In an op-ed piece in this month’s SD Times, I make the argument that software development productivity tools have evolved over the years to become more mainstream. I make the case that while some developers shun tools, in reality they take for granted the tools they are using today that were not available 10 years or so ago, or were not that mature. WinForms RadGridView vNext will feature new hierarchy modes and performance improvements!
During the past year, we received many suggestions for new features and bug fixes for RadGridView for WinForms. After analyzing them we realized that we should do a major refactoring of both the data layer and the UI of our grid control. Then we set an ambitious goal -- to refactor the control and implement the most wanted features.
