Telerik has released the latest beta of the OpenAccess Data Service Wizard. We now support Visual Studio 2010 RC! You can also choose to use WCF 4.0 as one of the services you can build. Based on your feedback we also added a new feature: the ability to automatically generate dependent entities. Download it today and give us your feedback. Real-World Recruiting Application using RadControls for Silverlight 3 [part 1]

As in any business, with prosperity comes the need to bring in more people to handle the workload.  Telerik is no stranger to that, but here in the US office this has previously been a process heavy with Excel files, carefully tagging emails in Outlook, and relying on the Outlook calendar to ensure that interviews and the like are all in synch.  This worked when the US office was working out of someone's house a few years back, but with two offices, multiple brand new and open positions, and more on the way, we realized we'd need to figure out some...

Large Data Concerns with Web UIs

When creating a new web application it is very easy to overlook how the system will handle large amounts. This is in part due to the fact that most of the systems we create are brand new, and completely empty. However, this type of oversight can quickly lead to systems that are completely unusable once they are put into production.  I remember a project I was working on many years ago were the designer had implemented a combo box selection for “type” selection on a particular page. The selection was for adding types of wire to an order.  Well, on...

WPF / Silverlight: How-to improve user experience when placing RadChart in a container that changes size rapidly on user demand

I must admit that coming up with a meaningful and relatively short title was really hard this time. Anyway, here is the scenario: You have a page layout with Grid panel with several cells and one of the cells is occupied by a RadChart control instance. Your requirements indicate that the grid layout should be flexible so you have placed several grid splitters in your panel as well. Soon enough, one of your QAs decides to play around with the GridSplitter and notices that the application slows down and becomes irresponsive (and can even crash) when the splitter is dragged around...

Q1 2010 Beta of Telerik XAML RadControls is now available

As we already announced in our public Roadmap, we mostly dedicated our efforts in Q1 2010 on improvements in our current offering. We have been working in several major directions: Performance, enhancements in the existing themes and we continued our Silverlight 4 development by launching weekly builds with our Silverlight 4 assemblies, thus tightly follow the Microsoft release schedule. Along with our major efforts for improvements we also worked on developing several new controls:: Transition for Silverlight and WPF Book and Map for WPF   Other major additions that will be included in Q1 2010 and are featured in this Beta release are key new...
