Enable or disable the optional multi-factor authentication for your Progress Telerik account and use your favorite authenticator app.

We’re excited to introduce multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Progress Telerik accounts, adding an extra layer of security to the sign-in process.

Passwords are important, but MFA adds another authentication step to the sign-in process. In addition to your password, you’ll verify your identity using a temporary code from your preferred authenticator app, helping you protect your account even if your password gets compromised.

MFA is available to Telerik and Kendo UI users who sign in with an email address username and password. It’s completely optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time from your Telerik profile. Once enabled, MFA adds an extra layer of security across applications that use your Telerik account for authentication, not just the Telerik website.

How to Enable MFA

Enabling MFA requires only a few simple steps and can be done directly from your Telerik account.

Step 1: Enable MFA from Your Profile

Sign in to your Telerik account and open Edit Your Profile. Under Multi-Factor Authentication, select Enable MFA to start the setup.

Step 2: Connect Your Authenticator App

MFA works with popular authenticator apps, including Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator and Authy, giving you the flexibility to use the authenticator you prefer.

Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or enter the provided setup key manually.

Once you have scanned the QR code or entered the key, your authenticator app will generate a six-digit verification code. Enter the current code and select Verify to complete the setup.

Set up Multi-Factor Authentication: Verify your authenticator with 6-digit code.

⚠️ Important: Once you have entered the six-digit code and have verified your authenticator, you’ll receive a set of recovery codes. Save these codes before completing the setup. They provide an alternative way to access your Telerik account if you lose access to your authenticator app. Treat them like passwords and keep them confidential.

You can copy your recovery codes or download them as a file. Keep them in a secure location, separate from the device you use for authentication, so you can access them if needed.

Signing In with MFA

Once MFA is enabled, you’ll have one additional step of security when signing in.

Enter your email address and password as usual. You’ll then be asked to enter the current six-digit code from your authenticator app.

Verify your identity with 6-digit code

If you don’t have access to your authenticator app, select Use a recovery code and enter one of your saved recovery codes instead.

Use a recovery code to verify and sign in

Once the verification is complete, you’ll be signed in and can continue using your Telerik account as usual.

How to Disable MFA

You can disable MFA at any time from your Telerik Profile.

Disable Multi-Factor Authentication: 1. Select Disable MFA. 2. Enter verification code. 3. Verify and disable.

Simply go to Telerik Profile -> Edit Your Profile -> Manage MFA and confirm your identity using either your authenticator app or a recovery code.
