The long-anticipated and highly demanded PdfViewer for ASP.NET AJAX is now available and ready for use by all fellow developers! The PDFViewer control enables the end-users to review PDF files directly in the browser without the need to download the file first. You can enjoy features like paging, zooming and ‘FitToWidth’ page scaling of PDF files to advanced features like virtualization.
New Component: Timeline
The newly added Timeline control for ASP.NET AJAX is the piece you’ve been missing for occasions where you had to display a chronologically ordered set of events. This component should be your first pick for a visualization of a company’s history or a travel itinerary for a travel app. It comes with all the flexibility you are accustomed to in our suite – it can be oriented horizontally or vertically, events are fully customizable and it supports data binding to its fullest.
Spreadsheet Component Enhancements
This release brings three distinct and important updates to the Spreadsheet component, all of which boost end user productivity:
Importing images and adding them as cell content is fully supported. This makes visualizing complex tables more intuitive as users can use the images to provide clues about what each cell’s meaning is and ease navigation
There is now built-in support for importing data from Excel and exporting to both PDF and Excel (.xlsx) files so users can directly interoperate with their existing spreadsheets
Lastly, users can add comments to cells to explain what a certain formula does or to leave notes to themselves and other collaborators
