Hello,

I am not sure what plan is for feature request but I am requesting that for the toolstrip dropdown menu that it would allow you to host other UI controls like a checkbox control or any other Windows Forms control.

Hi guys,

I have to tell that you are doing really amazing job here. But, but, I am not sure whether is it worth it. I mean is it worth it now, when WPF is around the corner? Wouldn't be better if you go for a WPF suite?
Anyway, I wish you good luck.

Hello telerik,

What other functionality will be included inside the r.a.d.winforms? I'm reading a lot about UI functionality, but are there other RAD benefits?

Hi guys,

Am getting a variety of exceptions with the winforms demo and controls. Am not really a windows programmer (yet!) but I thought I'd play about.

How stable is this release, should we expect a few bugs. And what do you want us to do when we find them?

Cheers,

Pete

Good morning,

Im not sure if anyone else has run into this problem yet, but when I try to install the rad controls for winforms i get an error stating:

Error 1304.Error Writing to file Telerik.WinControls.Docking.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory.

When i click Retry, i get another error stating:

Error 2350.FDI server error

When i click Retry again, i get another error stating:

Error 1334. the File 'telerik.wincontrols.docking.' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file 'data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.

After that the installation rollsback.

I have re-downloaded the package and I still get the same error

If anyone else has received this error and have resolved it, i would really appreciate your response.

Thank you,

Chris Nickel

The goal of the Telerik Forum is to provide all registered users with a way to find answers to their questions before officially contacting Telerik. In case you need a faster and precise response, please start a new support ticket as it gets higher priority than Forum posts.

A post in the Forums doesn't guarantee you a response from the Telerik support team although 95% of all posts are eventually addressed. Additionally, a post is not assigned a response time as with the support ticketing system.

The Forums can be used to:
  • Discuss coding techniques with fellow Telerik users
  • Share your experience on the Telerik suite of controls
  • Ask general questions, not related to Telerik controls
  • Contact Telerik with a question
  • Contact Telerik MVPs
  • Help other users

Telerik strives to constantly improve its support services but it is essential to have full information to supply precise replies. If we do not have enough details we will not be able to properly address your inquiry and we will ask for further info. The extra loop is sure to slow down the time it takes to resolve your problem, and subsequently the further development of your project.

It is vital that you follow these guidelines in order to receive an accurate response:

GUIDELINES TO USING THE SUPPORT FORUM
  1. You should have a valid Telerik account to post in the Forum. Anonymous names will not be allowed and such posts will not be answered or will be deleted.
  2. Use the relevant product forum to post your questions and comments. If your question relates to two or more Telerik products, you can post it in the General Discussions section.
  3. Choose a descriptive name for your thread in order to allow the other users looking for similar information to find it more easy.
  4. Try to keep discussing only one subject per thread. If you have information/inquery unrelated to the initial topic of a thread, please open a new thread.
  5. Describe your question in detail. Make sure to include the following information:
    • Step by step instructions on how to reproduce the problem
    • Code snippets (file attachments other than .gif, .jpg, .jpeg, and .png are not supported). If you think that Telerik needs to review your project and/or files, start a new support ticket.
    • Stack trace, if applicable
    • Used programming language (VB.NET or C#)
    • Your experience with .Net and RadControls

  6. State the software you are using, including:
    • OS version and applied service packs
    • Regional and language settings, if different from En-US
    • .NET version (.NET2, .NET4, etc)
    • Exact version of the Telerik product

  7. Telerik reserves the right to use, reproduce and share the material you post within the forums.
  8. Telerik reserves the right to not participate in all posts.
  9. Telerik reserves the right to remove any messages that do not comply with these terms.

ENJOY!!!

Best Wishes,
The Telerik team

A little bit of RadMenu feedback for you....

1)  I know you said don't comment about the documentation but... Is RadMenu in the Toolbar the same thing that is RadMenuStrip in the documentation!  Just want to make sure I'm testing the right thing.  :)

2)  Designing the Menu seems counterintuitive.  I couldn't figure out an easy way in the form view to manipulate the entries that were created.  Whether I was creating a top level menu or a sub level menu item was unclear.  I created a brand new project, dragged the menu control on and typed &File in the space.  Next I typed E&xit in the space that appeared below File.  It appeared to the right of File.  I typed &Help in the space (still below File) and it appeared below File.

3)  Dragging the RadMenu on the form does not add all the references that you need to use the control.  I had to add the reference to Telerik.WinControls from the examples folder.  Should there not be a common bin folder?

4)  It seems that clicking on one of the menu items and pressing direction arrow keys and then changing the focus causes Visual Studio to crash.

Minimize/Maximize/Restore/Close buttons on most forms doesn't give any feedback at all.

Maximize button doesn't change into restore and vice-versa (when clicked).

There is no mouse pointer feedback when resizing form (arrow doesn't change)

ComboBox (from ToolStrip demo) doesn't color the item under the hoovering mouse pointer.
