I have the following issues/questions with docking control
- The form that contains the docking manager is taking around 4.5 sec average to load for the first time, while it takes 0.3 sec without it, so is there a way to boost the performance, note that if I closed the form and opened it again it doesn't long time to load.
- I did set the min width for a dock panel, however when I changed its size i could change it to much less than the min width but when I click on the undersized panel it change size to the min width!
- Is there a way to prevent panels from docking as tabs?

Thank you for your feedback. About your issues:
- We work on boosting performance of the docking component and the whole winforms suite in general for all releases. Hopefully you will see major improvements as soon as the next release.
- Where does the problem occur - in design time or runtime? Please send us a simple example and step to reproduce problem locally. This will help us immensely in solving the issue. You can do so in a formal support ticket.
- This feature not available in our current release, but is included in our TODO list. Unfortunately we do not have a time frame for it yet.

Regarding the second point, I captured a clip for it, you can download it from here , note that when you see the panel width increasing in the clip I am clicking on the panel. and I got the same behavior at design time.
I've another question here too, are you planning for Right-to-Left support?
Edit: I am sorry the download link was not working, fixed it now

Hi Metref,
Thank's for the clip and feedback :-). We managed to reproduce this problem locally. The fix will be available in the upcoming release next month.
As to the second question, we do not support Right-to-Left languages in our current release, but we will in a future release.

Hi
When will this new release be schedule to be ready? As currently we are experiencing the same performance issue during runtime. A emtpy dock component with no dock panels or tabs take 4-6 seconds to load and this impact greatly on the user experience of the application we are developing. Is it possible to release it as a service pack or patch for current component?
With our current license without any subscriptions, are we eligible for this new release?

Hi Alan Ng,
The new release is scheduled for the last week of April (the target date is April 23th). We are not sure how/if we are to provide you with the fixed version, as it will be a major one. We will need to discuss our options in order to be able to help you. Please stay tuned for more information on this topic next week.
Sincerely yours,

Hi Metref,
Indeed, we did not manage to address all of the reported issues, and we are deeply sorry for this. Nevertheless, we are ready to offer you a custom build where the second problem you reported is fixed. Please, open a formal support ticket and we will send you the build which takes care of the dock bug.
As to the performance issues, this is an ongoing task, as we noted initially. We did some dock improvements for this release, although not in the direction you have reported. Our goal has always been to improve performance and this is exactly what we are going to do in the future as well. For the first service pack we plan to address some grid scrolling issues, as well as improve the docking manager. The service pack is scheduled to be released within the next 4 weeks.
We apologize for the time it takes to get these problems out of the way.
