Wiki page with SPRadeditor embbeded is destructed in page edit mode

Hi Telerik team,

a custom web part using SPRadEditor is destructing the page if the user is changing into the page edit mode. This problem appears also with the Telerik Rad Editor Webpart. Screencast: http://screencast.com/t/GEu01yGtvLj

We are not aware of this problem? Do you experience it when the page is placed in presentation mode and you place the RadEditor's WebPart in edit mode?

Hi Rumen,

there is no problem in the presentation mode. But a custom web part using the SPRadEditor class permanently can not used for wiki pages, because the wiki page is every time destructed if you want to edit the page with the web part embedded. It is not necessary, that the SPRadEditor edit field is working, but the entire wiki page should not disappear.

Hi Ben,

The RadEditor WebPart is suitable to edit parts of the content on the page. When your click Edit Web Part button of the WebPart Menu and type content in the editor, it is recommended to click the OK or Apply buttons of the Telerik RadEditor for SharePoint WebPart toolbar. This is the correct and only way to save the content in the web part editor.
If you click Edit Page button from the top toolbar, while the web part editor is in edit mode, you will not also lose the RadEditor content but this will cause the reported SharePoint behavior. This is not something that we can control but a side effect of SharePoint.

That is why our recommendation is to firstly save the RadEditor's content from the WebPart toolbar and after that press the Edit Page button if you need to make additional changes to the page.
