One of the websites I am working on uses viewstate compression, in doing so it saves the viewstate into a non standard hidden field which does not appear to be picked up by Telerik Ajax on a post back.

Hi Paul,
There is no way to "define" the new field. Please use one of the compression modules that do not use such approach. Here is an article elaborating on http compression and RadControls:
