Currently I'm using the v2.0.50727 of the editor. But I've started to notice problems with IE8. Specifically the "Paste from word cleaning fonts and sizes" button. It no longer opens a new window for me to paste anything into. Are there any fixes for this? Upgrading to a newer version of the control is not out of the question, but before I do that I was wondering how much has the control changed from the version I have as I'm wondering how much trouble I'm going to have implementing the new version. I know that's a hard question to answer but In general I guess I'm wondering how much has the core of the RadEditor changed. Just trying to figure out how easily I can swap out the old version for the new one

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Todd

Hi Todd,

v2.0.50727 is RadEditor Classic, which is released much before the official release of Internet Explorer 8 and it does not offer support for it. We discontinued the development of the classic editor in 2008 and right now we develop and provide fixed and support only for the new RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX. You can find migration instructions in the following help article: Migration from RadEditor Classic to RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX. Let us know if you experience any troubles during the migration, we will be glad to help.

Please, note that the "Paste from word cleaning fonts and sizes" opens a dialog only in Firefox, Chrome and Safari, but not in Internet Explorer. IE offers an onpaste event and it is not needed to open a dialog to strip the Word formatting. The formatting is stripped directly when clicking that button and the cleaned content pasted directly in RadEditor.
