[Solved] Upgrading from Q1 to Q2 2009 RadControls

Hi

I have Q1 2009 installed now and want to upgrade to the production release of Q2,
as there seem to be some great productivity gains to be had, and the style editor looks
like an answer to a maiden's prayer. (Well done Telerik developers!)

I am using MS VWD 2008, SP1

1 ) Is the version that is in my account download area now the production release? (2009.2 701 )

2 ) Can I use the msi file or is it the manual process to follow?

1. indeed this is the official Q2 2009 release of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX (version number 2009.2.701).

Can you calrify the answer to Clive's second question; i.e., Can the the RAD Controls for Asp.Net Ajax (V2009.2.701) msi file be used to upgrade my Q1 2009 version on Visual Studio 2008 SP1?  Or should the "manual" installation process decribed in the link be used?

Hello Xiggi,

The MSI will install the new version in parallel to the previous one - it will not remove or upgrade the previous version. Once you install the new version you can either use the Visual Studio Extensions (from the Telerik Menu in Visual Studio) to upgrade your projects or follow the manual steps linked in the previous post.
