[Solved] Updating to 2009 Skin issues

Our site uses a couple custom skins which look somewhat off with the newest dll. I know there have been promises to fix any skin breakage but I'm not sure how much of our code I would be allowed to send out. Is there any place I can look for documentation as to how I might go about updating the site myself?
