Hi guys,

New slider looks very tasty (in fact it all does) but can we have a two thumb version of the slider. Very useful for specifying numeric ranges ie. ring size > 4 and ring size < 8

Cheers,

Pete

Hi all,

Yes, having a "two thumb" version of the slider (or a so called range slider) is in our list for improvements.

Hello Sarb,

Currently, this feature has not been implemented but it is in our request list with major priority. We will do our best to implement it for the September release, however I cannot guarantee this for certain.

Hi James,
Thank you for your vote - it has been noted.

Saurabh, I am afraid at this point we cannot offer any other solution.

Well, i ran out of patience and I created a dual handled slider by modifying the AJAXControlToolkit source. You can see an example here www.cellswapper.com/search.aspx

Hello,
Just wanted to check if there are any news on this... Double value slider is extremely usefull for our search pages and I wouldn't like to plug in jQuery or other library just for that one function.

Thank You

We were wondering if there is any news on this control? We're looking for a two thumb range slider also, and are interested in some of the other controls, so if this is included, we would certainly invest in the whole suite of controls.

If anyone is curious, I am extending the AJAXControlToolkit slider to work similar to the famous vertical two handled sliders on the bluenile.com diamond search. I am still making some adjustments but you can try the current version at http://www.diamondstudsource.com/Search.aspx?test=yitz .

Hi,

We have plans for implementing such a functionality in RadSlider. Our initial plans are to implement it for the 2008/Q1 release which should be at the beginning of March.

If you have any interesting features which can be implemented in RadSlider, we will be happy if you share them with us.

Sincerely yours,

Do you have any beta release of this dual slider in the Prometheus for us to try?

Hello Sekhar,

Currently there is still no BETA for the dual thumb slider. Once we have one ready, we consider to make it available in our forums so we can gather feedback from the community.

Best wishes,

Hello Mukesh,

Due to several features and fixes with higher priority that must appear in the Q1 2008 release of our controls, we had to postpone the implementation of the dual-thumb slider for one of the following updates. I can assure you that providing this feature is in our ToDo list and we will do our best to implement it in the following months.

Georgi,

It is pretty disappointing that this is still on the "ToDo" list after over a year ago this thread was started.  There seems to be only one quality dual slider for ASP.NET, and I believe it was what Jeremy mentioned earlier in this thread.  However, we are looking for something that works with .NET 2.0 and it seems this works only in .NET 3.5.

We are interested in purchasing the Telerik ASP.NET RadControls and the Dual-Slider would definitely be a selling point.

Hi Marc,
I do understand your point of view and agree with you, that without that feature, the RadSlider is just a basic slider control, that does not cover most of the scenarios in which people want to use it. So far, however, even though we had it on our ToDo list, we have had other tasks (features for other controls in the RadControls suite) that were with higher priority. The good news is that adding new functionality and reworking the rendering mechanism and the logic of RadSlider is one of our primary tasks for the Q2 2008 release. Some of the intended features that we have discussed for the RadSlider and have added to the plan for the Q, are the following:

  1. Marks for the values the slider takes
  2. The ability to set the width and height of the control in percents
  3. More flexible mechanism for determining the physical and logical length of the track (currently Length property sets the physical value and the logical length is being calculated based on MinValue and MaxValue properties)
  4. Two-thumb functionality.

Kind regards,

Tsvetie
