I am using SelfHierarchySettings of master/detail grid to show parent child relation of data. The issue that I am facing is that I am not able to get the child grid if there is no child under a parent node. It just shows expanded icon and nothing else.
What I am looking for is that when I click on expand icon, it should show up a blank child grid.
Can you please provide me some code for this to achieve the above said functionality.
Thanks & Regards,
Sachin Vaid

Hello sachin,
Have you considered removing the expand/collapse image for records that do not have child records in the self-referencing grid? If this is valid approach for your case I think that the information from this help topic can be useful to you.
Alternatively, define no records template as illustrated in the example from the KB article below:

Hello Erik,
Here is the correct link for the help article describing how to hide the expand/collapse image for records that do not have child records in the self-referencing grid:
http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/grid-hide-expand-collapse-images-when-no-records-in-self-referencing-hierarchy.html
Regarding the KB article it is no longer available as we already have RadTreeList control available in our suite and implementing Self-referencing grid is not recommended.

The last provided link goes to 404 not found, not even the usual Telerik error page.

Hello,
The link is not found as self reference hierarchy is no longer supported. However, as suggested in the previous post you can use RadTreeList control instead.
