Telerik DataList?

Does telerik have any plans on creating a DataList control similar to telerik Grid?

Hello Scott,

You may be happy to know that we have plans to include RadListView control to our ASP.NET AJAX suite for the upcoming versions of the bundle. Review this forum post which elaborates on this subject:

We will appreciate if you share with us what will be the features for this new control which you will find most useful. We will surely take them into account when making the future decision about the object model and features of such product.

Also note that the forum user posted a possible workaround to attain the flexible layout for our RadGrid instance.

I'm contemplating on whether I should implement the solution provided in the link you gave me.  But it depends on when the next release will be out. 

Any idea when the upcoming release will be with the RadListView control included?

Hi Scott,

You may be happy to know that you are able to attain the ListView/DataList-like presentation taking advantage of the global item template feature of RadGrid. This is demonstrated in one of the online demos part of the Q3 2008 Beta release of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX:

Hence in addition to the solution presented in the forum post you may consider the technique presented in the example to attain the layout in question.
