Hi there, can it be that the version you provide for download is a bit out of date?

I am trying to follow the Radgrid example which says that for header tooltips you need to code this behaviour.
But as I was able to see this is now an optionof the header item in property builder.

Also it states that you have to import "Telerik.WebControls", I don't have that namespace ...

So is this a good idea if I use that "old" tutorial?

Thanks in advance for your help

Best regards

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

The Step-by-step Tutorial – RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX is updated regularly, nevertheless it may be the case that a code snippet may contain code which is outdated - if this is the case, can you please let me know which is the location of the erroneous code, so that we can eliminate the discrepancy?
Additionally, the tutorial can be used in addition to the online help. The online help receives much more frequent updates. The choice ultimately depends on whether you are looking for a particular setup/functionality, or trying to get general information on the controls, and become gradually acquainted with some of the features/api.

Best wishes,

Hi Yavor

on page 462 in the PDF you write:

"Adding the tooltips takes a little bit of code:..." followed by the code example

But in my opinion there is a propery for Header-Tooltips, so I am a bit confused.

Hi Thomas,

This help article:

http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/grdlocalizingtootips.html

as well as this one:

http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/grdlocalizationforgridheaders.html

contain additional information in how to localize the headers and tooltips of the control. I will also review the section which you referred to ensure its integrity. I hope this gets you started properly.

Best wishes,
Yavor

The Step-by-step Tutorial - RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX http://www.telerik.com/documents/RadControlsAJAXCourseware.pdf is not just slightly outdated.  It is outdated by over a year.  Could you please point me to the updated documentation that uses Visual Studio 2010 and .net 4.

Thank you,

Kelly

Hello Kelly,

Indeed the ASP.NET AJAX courseware has not received major updates lately and we plan to refresh it in the next couple of months. I will pass your feedback to our documentation writers to take it into consideration.

Hi Sebastian,

I'm in a situation.  I do not know how to get a web application up and running without having a current step-by-step turtorial in how to use the asp.net 4.0 Ajax RadControls using Visual Studio 2010.  I'm ready to purchase the full suite of RadControls if I can just get a web application to work.  Can you point me in the right direction in getting an up-to-date tutorial?  Could you even provide me with one yourself?  I'm desparate since I'm already a month behind in getting this application up and running in Production.  Please help.

Thank you,

Kelly

Hello Kelly,

I am happy to inform you that our AJAX step-by-step tutorial has been updated with the content applicable up until the Q1 2011 release of the suite. We will refresh it once again within several weeks with the new things introduced in the recent major AJAX release.

The current uploaded version of the courseware should be adaptable for .NET 4 and VS 2010 although the samples do not specifically target this exact version of the .NET framework and Visual Studio. Let us know if you encounter issues with some of the samples under .NET 4, we will gladly help you address them.

Hi Everyone,

any news on the updated tutorial? I want to print the whole PDF file because it is easier to read for me.But since it is nearly 1000 pages I don't want to waste money on an old version if a new one is out soon ....

Please give me some insight on the release plan for the new step-by-step tutorial, thank you!

Best regards
