I am looking into deploying the SPRadScheduler web part, but would like to know if it is possible to display the control as a mini calendar view. Hovering or clicking on the dates would display the schedule for that particular day. I haven't found any documentation on how to do this. Is this possible?

I am afraid that SPRadScheduler does not support this behaviour.
You can try implementing similar behaviour within a custom VisualWebPart with RadCalendar that updates RadScheduler - this online demo illustrates such scenario.
(Please note that under SharePoint you need to add AjaxSettings programmatically.)
