Hi

I have a simple grid connected to an nhibernate collection. All works fine bar the sorting.
When a user clicks on a header column to sort, if the word in the header is click it will sort asc. More clicks on the header on the word have no effect - column remains sorted asc. However if the sort icon is clicked the next column is sorted and marked as sorted?? and so on..

Anyone seen this behaviour before?

Regards
Kieran

Hello Kieran,

Could you please check whether you use advanced binding with NeedDataSource even handling or assign a data source control for the grid and at the same time invoke its DataBind() method on each load? This can cause the erratic behavior.

Additionally, is it possible that you set the EnableViewState property of the grid to false and this causes the strange sorting behavior in your case?

Kind regards,

I have exact same problem though not using nhibernate -
I am binding to datatable in need datasource event.
Viewstate is on everywhere.
Grids are in Usercontrols.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hello Ford,

I am afraid that the provided information is not enough to pinpoint the cause of the problem. If the issue persists, you can open a formal support ticket, and send us a small working project, demonstrating the logic of your setup. We will review it locally, and get back to you with additional information.
