When holding down shift and clicking multiple lines in a grid (this part works), the text in those lines also becomes selected (browsers behavior). Is there anyway to override this behavior?

This happens on IE and FF. While not a functional issue, it looks very odd when selecting rows to have the text also selected.

I know that this does not have to happen. Fogbugz (an issue tracking package) has grid of their own which also implements multiple selection using shift. On their site, holding shift and selecting does not select the text.

Hi alex,

You can enable drag to select multiple rows to avoid browser selection similar to this example:
