Hi,

Here are what I would like to see in the next version:

  1. Several captcha's on the same page will display the same pictures all over - pictures should be individual.
  2. Click on the picture should fetch a new one.
  3. Better control over the input box and label.
  4. The ability to turn on/off sound (read out loud the letters/numbers in current language)
  5. More image "template" types to choose from.

Hi,

1.This is happening because all of the RadCaptcha controls on the page use the same HttpHandler and only a single image is served. We will consider this feature (different images for all of the RadCaptcha controls on the page) and will implement it for some of the future releases. However, we cannot guarantee that it will be available for the next official release.

2. "Generate New Image" functionality has been requested before and it will be introduced in the next major official release.

3. We are planning to render only the image of the RadCaptcha control, and let the users choose which textbox will be validated. This way the user has full control of the TextBox where the captcha code will be entered. The feature will be available for the next major release.

4. Audio features for the RadCaptcha control have been requested by other customers also, and this functionality is already logged in our "Future Developments List". However, I cannot give you any specific time frame about when it will be implemented.

5. This seems like a nice feature. We are writing it down in our TODO list for future developments.

All the best,

I do

to be honest, as a user not a developer, i get hard times sometime distinguishing between the letter O and the number 0, or the letter I and the number 1 (or small L), this causes me to enter data manytimes, especially if there is password fields in the form, i usually end up filling it 2-3 times or ignoring the idea completely and canceling the request.

what is suggest is leaving the option to not include such misleading characters.

One more thing,
Another nice way of captcha, is instead of using noise (which i personally hate by the way), you can make it an equation.

for example, (write the sum of two and 3)
or, write the longest word among cat, lion, elephant.
write the tallest animal (ant, elephant, lion)
write the first two words only from I love telerik

and alike, of course all this should be in images to prevent Bots from solving it.

hope this helps.

Hi Alaa,

In the next official release we are planning to introduce a property that will enable the users to choose a character set from which the image characters will be chosen and rendered on the image. This way you can omit the characters that you do not want to be rendered on the image.

We will consider implementing the second feature that you suggested in some of our future releases. However I cannot give you any specific time frame about when it will be available.
