Hi,
Is it possible to enable WSS Search to crawl contents that reside in radeditor webpart?

Thanks

Hello,

Does the WSS search go through the original Content Editor Web Part content? If it does then it should be easy to implement the same functionality in the RadEditor Web Part. If you know of a web part that allows WSS search, it will be useful for us as well.

Hello folks,

Yes, the original Content Editor Web Part gets crawled by WSS Search. But if I put a radeditor web part on the very same page, its content doesn't get crawled (and found).

Any idea what could cause this?

Thanks
Martin

Hi,
I guess the there is a ifilter written for the original content editor web part but not another one for radeditor.
For the content to be crawled, the content should be accessible for the wss search ifilters.

I did some research for writing a custom ifilter, but I had neither experience nor time to develop one.

So I took a second step which I had time for clearly, and wrote a custom service which copies the radeditor content(html free)  to a custom hidden column to make it searchable.

Dirty but it works for my project.
