in some of the grid columns i used
FilterControlWidth="40px"
HeaderStyle Width="50px"
it looks perfectly fine on development machine during debugging. However once i uploaded the page onto the server the little triangle image on side of the filter textboxes all moved below these texboxes....
any idea why?

Hello,
I am afraid the provided information is inadequate for us to understand what the problem is. Please tell us which browser do you use and send us the RadGrid declaration.
It is possible that you are using IE8, but it renders the page in standard compliance mode in one case, and in compatibility view in the other case.
