Hi, Long time Telerik customer / developer here :)

I have a large customer who has been exploring reporting portals to be used for a Hosted service they want to provide to their customer base.

I have been doing the development of the solution and left them to pick a reporting solution, but they have failed to do so and now run out of time.

Long story short, I have only a few days to come back to them and say if the Telerik Reporting Server is suitable and then they will buy licensing for it. I have not used the Report Server before ( I have it installed as part of my DEV package, but never played with it!) and I am flat out with work.. so I hope someone who knows the system well can answer some questions please.

1) Is this suitable for a Public facing reporting server  ( Public URL) , to be shared with multiple customers, each with their own logons. (Tenanted). What features are not available in this scenario. It is possible they could set up access via VPN rather than having it totally public.

2) Each Tenant will have the same tables for reporting so the same reports should be used for each customer, BUT each tenant has it's own database. Can we set up each tenant to use the same reports but using their own data connection? ( Please note that each tenant may have multiple logons and each logon maybe limited to the data available to select from ( the reporting objects, not the reports)

3) General use question.. basically we want the customer to have access to a bunch of canned reports and be able to select these to run, along with parameters such as data objects to report on, time frames, grouping etc. I think they want Scheduled reports as well.

4) The customers are all in Sweden , so I think they will want the interface in Swedish ( but probably not a showstopper)

I'm sure I have lots more questions.. but I think these are the key ones...  any help greatly appreciated.

is there a way to generate and receive Report via Webservice?
I would select a report (on the ReportServer), maybe change the datasource with an other defined datasource and grab the PDF of this report.

 

I find somes docs about WCS ReportService.svc that seems to let us generate report but I'm a bit confused about it and the difference between it and ReportServer.

Is there a way to upload multiple reports at once?  I've checked the documentation and did a quick search of the feedback portal, but didn't find this there.

I'd like to propose this feature, but wanted to be sure I just haven't missed it somehow.

Is there an import or conversion process to convert SQL Server Reporting Services reports into Telerik Report Server?

When I add an external subscriber, I get the entry as:

(external subscriber)

x@x.com

However, my email template says:

Hello {FirstName},

Could you please let me the know the exact format to add external subscribers so that the email template parameters gets replaced in case of external subscribers?

I want to open a dashboard suppose dashboard dealer Inn dashboard then it will open it as shown in attached screen shot design.if i click on Barcode reports then it will open the Barcode reports dashboard.Can you tell me how i can show the same design structure as i shown in attachment.

Hi All,

Can some one tell me how to refresh .trdx file in report server?

 

Actually i have made a report in standalone report designer after that i uploaded that .trdx file in Report server and scheduled it daily basis and emailed to my client.

 

After some days i changed in my .trdx file which i created in standalone report designer and save it.

 

Then i checked same .trdx file in report designer but didnt get any change. Can anybody tell me why it is not refreshing my .trdx file or i have to do something more  in my report designer.

I am using the demo of the Reporting server but for some reason my save button is not visible in scheduling to be able to save the settings then when i navigate of the settings tab it looses the settings then when i hit send test mail it works but navigate off it looses the settings. We are 90 % then to be concvinced in buying this for a big development team we just need to no how we can save the settings !!!     

“Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.AspNet.Identity.Owin, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.” error message is shown after upgrading to Q1 2016 
 
If you upgrade your installation of Telerik Report Server to Q1 2016, chances are that you will see this message right after finishing the installation and opening the Report Server Manager. The reason is that two of the assemblies that Report Server uses for authentication purposes are not copied into the \bin folder of Report Server by the MSI installer. These assemblies are Microsoft.AspNet.Identity.Owin.dll and Microsoft.AspNet.Identity.Core.dll. 
The installer itself doesn’t copy the assemblies, because their versioning changed since our last release. In the previous release of Report Server Q3 2015, both the assemblies had version 2.2.40217.0. However, the newer version of these assemblies is 2.2.1.40403, which is considered smaller (older) than the previous one by the installer. 
The easiest fix is to run the installer again and choose the Repair option from the Customization page. The installer will copy the missing assemblies into the \bin folder and the Report Server should start successfully.
