Hi Guys,

I have an ingres ODBC driver installed on the report server for connecting to our ingres tables.  In the report designer when I select the query builder button in configure data source I receive an error such as "ERROR [42000] [Actian][Ingres IJ ODBC Driver]Line1, There is no such function as 'serverproperty'".  I can use the same driver to connect to the tables in Microsoft Access and this works fine, I just get this error every time in the report designer, can anyone offer any assistance to resolve this issue.

Thanks for your help

Im having trouble getting a report to layout as I'd like. The report needs to have multiple rows for each record that is returned from the database. No matter what I try, I cant get the report to layout correctly. As soon as I have multiple rows per record, the rows always move to the bottom of the section and only return once. An example of what I need to look like is attached. What its returning like is also attached. Any ideas on what I can do?

Thanks,

Nick

Hello -

I am currently connecting to a URL that is serving CSV data in order to bring data into a report.  The URL looks something like like this :

http://www.myreportdata.com?orgId=1234

In order to specify the data that I would like to load, I would love to be able to change this URL to something like this :

http://www.myreportdata.com?orgId=1234&date=7-5-2017

or this:

http://www.myreportdata.com?orgId=1234&date=7-10-2017

based an a parameter in the report.  I am using the Angular 4 viewer to view all reports.  It seems like this might not be possible, to change the DataSource Uri based on a report parameter, I was hoping that I could assign the DataSource to something like this:

http://www.myreportdata.com?orgId=1234&date=[Report.Parameters.Date.Value] in order to accomplish this task, but I can't get anything to work that way.  It seems maybe the other alternative would be to add a custom report resolver to my Report Server, but I was hoping for a simpler solution.  So my question is two-fold.

1.  Is there any way to accomplish this goal SIMPLY and without using a Custom Report Resolver?

2.  If not, are there any great documents on implementing a Custom Report Resolver when using Report server?

Thanks much for any assistance.

Hi team telerik - is there currently a way to connect telerik reports / report server to Oracle Essbase?

I require some kind of data adapter that can leverage EssBase data for reporting in our reports as we are moving away from OBI in the upcoming months; this would be a great help in our migration over to Telerik reports.  Can somebody advise or suggest a good approach to achieve this?

Thanks,

Hello team Telerik,

We are a long-time customer of Telerik and do like to push the boundaries of our Telerik software to utilize the full potential of products for our current business IT functions.

As a business we currently use Oracle OBI for some of our analysis, however we are now looking to migrate away from this solution and take full advantage of report server as a direct and continuing replacement for most of our reporting needs.

In order to achieve our goal and to assist with this migration we have an interesting and exciting idea (and great marketing tool for Telerik customers) for report server in the form of a small template process that would import and convert Oracle OBI for use with report server reports.  This does not necessarily need to be a full conversion however a step in the right direction, considering how much work has gone into our current OBI solution even an 80% success rate of import would be exciting for us - if report server could offer such a feature that would be super amazing.

After evaluation, we have been quite impressed with the Report Server solution thus far and believe we can leverage it even further by suggesting extra features such as this import function and believe Telerik making this small implementation into the current report server software would make a massive difference to its customers.

I look forward to any feedback for this thread and any other ideas based around this import venture or oracle OBI templates.

Probably a dumb question.

I've successfully installed Report Server, and am trying to input a Data Connection, and enter the provider (SQL) and the connection string, which the Report Server accepts. I then use IE to create a report, however, when I chose the Data Connection I entered, I get an error saying that there is an error in index 107.

So I'm guessing I'm not putting in the data string correctly even though it is accepted. Can someone give me the format of the conneciton string for SQLClient Data Provider (seems like a dumb question; however, it is not working with the one I'm entering).

In advance, thanks for your help.

Hi,

Please can I get a few pointers on setting up an entity data source for the report server and desktop report editor: relevant documentation, walkthroughs, etc.

I'm expecting to:

  1. Make an EntityFramework model and compile it into a DLL. Easy: done.
  2. Add an app.config file to the report designer and edit it to include a reference to my DLL. When I download the app from the report server it does not come with a config file. Must the config file have a specific filename? Must it be in a particular location?
  3. Something similar on the report server. I can't find any documentation for this.

Thanks,

Richard.
