Hello,

We are currently in the process of upgrading the RadControls from a (very) old version (6.1) to the current version.  The upgrade is complete and working with no problems, however, I'd like to cleanly remove any remnants of the old version.

Is there any list or resource available to let me know what is safe to remove and what needs to stay.

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

Hello Glenn,

Generally speaking, if you remove the assemblies/references to the old RadControls for ASP.NET Classic in your project and delete their /RadControls folder, this should be enough to clean up the obsolete resources.

Should you have further inquiries, do let me know.

Kind regards,

Thanks Sebastian,

I noticed that the "Changing location" KB article you mentioned was from 2008.  Have things changed so that the RadControls folder is no longer needed in any web application?

The reason I ask is because I created a new test web application in VS2010 and no "RadControls" folder was created.  Can I completely delete that folder?

Hello Glenn,

The /RadControls folder is not necessary in case you use our ASP.NET AJAX suite. If you still use RadControls for ASP.NET which are their predecessor (with individual assemblies for each control), you will probably still need that folder.
