We must admit this is a problem within the current version of the control. We have already escalated this issue to our developers and it will be fixed for the next service pack.

RadTextBox supports the client events as explained in this documentation. Try upgrading to the latest version.
Updating RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX to another version or license.
