Hi,
We need the language dictionaries(i.e tdf files). We have only 3 tdf files (i.e de-DE.tdf, en-US.tdf and fr-FR.tdf) in RadSpell directory. We need more tdf files to support other languages. Please let me know, from where and how to download the tdf files.
Thanks,
Mariyam

Hi Mariyam,
Unfortunately, we do not have the requested dictionaries in our storage.
Please, note that Telerik supports only the three English, French and German dictionaries shipped with the RadSpell and RadEditor control. The other dictionaries are provided by our customers and shared among the Telerik community.
Nevertheless, you can easily create your own custom TDF dictionary by using the Dictionary Configurator tool, which you can download from the following code library project: Dictionary Configuration.
Here are the steps that you can take to produce a new TDF dictionary:

Nevertheless, you can easily create your own custom TDF dictionary by using the Dictionary Configurator tool, which you can download from the following code library project: Dictionary Configuration.
Here are the steps that you can take to produce a new TDF dictionary:
- See whether the needed dictionary exists on the following site: Dictionaries or create a text file (with extension .tdf) following the "word-per-line" rule
- Rename the .dic / .txt extension to .tdf
- After that convert the file by using the Dictionary Configurator tool.
- Place the new dictionary in the
"\RadControls\Spell\TDF", test and verify that the spellchecker works properly with it.
If the dictionary language is incompatible with the phonetic spell check provider then set the spellchecker to use its EditDistanceProvider (SpellCheckProvider="EditDistanceProvider").

Hi!
I need a norwegian .tdf file (the nb_NO). I tried to download a dictionary from the OpenOffice.org page, but I only got a .bic file, and I had trouble converting it to a .tdf-file.
Cheers,
Erlend Haukland

Hi,
How can I submit two dictionaries that I converted? I have added serbian cyrillic and latin dictionaries. I have named them sr-RS.tdf and sh-RS.tdf respectively but I am not sure these are appropriate codes. So, I can send to Telerik community if needed.
/Edit/
I have opened ticket #272549 and sent files there.
Regards,
Radovan

Hi,
RadSpell.dll and RadEditor.dll are part of RadEditor for ASP.NET (Classic) installation. The development of RadEditor Classic is discontinued since 2009 and it is not distributed any more.
My suggestion is to download the installation from the license holding account. If it is not available, ask the license holder to open a support ticket and we will attach the file.
Best regards,
