Hello Stacy,
Try to upgrade to the ServicePack of Q1 2012, this may resolve the problem, since we have fixed several issues with the styling of the textboxes. If this does not help please write us all your custom styles that you use on your page, I will try to replicate the issue here and to determinate what is causing it.

Upgrade fixed the problem.
