RadGrid Scriptmanager requirement!

Scenario: I wanted to add the radgrid in a webpart childcontrols collection. Why do i need the scriptmanager how to avoid it?
Because i am getting an error stating the necessity of scriptmanager. Please do let me know on this.

Since anything built on ASP.NET Ajax needs a scriptmanager in order to function you are getting that error when you don't have one. I don't know of a work around (since Microsoft is in charge of anything Ajax), all the tutorials I've read and watched, and all the demos on this website include a script manager.
