We have an application developed in .net framework 2.0. All rad controls are working fine in IIS6. But when we host the application in IIS 7.0 all controls except rad editor is working fine. The rad editor is showing as a text area. Is there any fix?

Hello,

Under which browser do you experience the reported issue and which version of RadEditor do you use in your project?

Hello,

If you experience the problem in Firefox only, see this forum thread on the subject: RadEditor for ASP.NET does not work properly in Firefox 6. If the version of RadEditor.NET2.dll is older than 7.x.x, e.g. 6.x.x. you should upgrade to 7.3.6 and use the solution provided in the forum thread above.

Of course the recommended approach is to migrate to RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX, because RadEditor for ASP.NET is discontinued since 2009 and it does not support the modern browsers.

If we upgrade to the next version will the controls used in the existing application work with the new dlls?

Hi,

Every control from the ASP.NET suite has its equivalent in the ASP.NET AJAX suite and you should not have problems to upgrade your site to use only ASP.NET AJAX controls. Please refer to the Changes and backwards compatibility topics for every control in our online documentation before you do this.

In addition there is a migration topic under the help section of every ASP.NET AJAX controls. Here are a few links:
Migration from RadAjax for ASP.NET to RadAjax for ASP.NET AJAX
Migration from RadEditor Classic to RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX
Migration from RadWindow for ASP.NET ("Classic") to RadWindow for ASP.NET AJAX
Migration from RadGrid for ASP.NET to ASP.NET AJAX
Migrating from RadComboBox Classic to ASP.NET AJAX version
Migrating From RadMenu ASP.NET to ASP.NET AJAX
Migrating from RadTreeView for ASP.NET to ASP.NET AJAX
