RadControls for ASP.NET Q2 2009 SP1 Setup Error

Experienced members,

I am having an issue upgrading from a previous release of the RadControls.

Every time I try to install the Q2 controls, I recieve the error "Telerik RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX VSExtensions are installed. Please uninstall and restart this setup."

So I try to uninstall vai the "add remove programs", but its not there. How do i recover from this point?

My machine is configured as such;

Windows Vista 64bit
Visual Studio 08

Thanks for the response, but the end result is the same.

The msiexec lines responded with "This action is only allowed for installed products."
And There was no telerik registry entry at that location.

So not sure...

Hello Marc Ross,

I am sorry for the problems you've had. The thread that Edward pointed to had an omission and was updated.

It correctly stated you need to delete a specific registry entry, namely

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Telerik\RadControlsForASPNETAJAXVSX,

   

which is correct, however if you are using a 64 bit OS the entry will be located in

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ Telerik\RadControlsForASPNETAJAXVSX.
