According to this blog post, requests must be bigger than 8K to be compressed.

However I find that my AJAX call I did without RadCompression is 56 bytes, with it is 170+ bytes.

How come it grew, albeit slightly?

How do I get/set the threshold?

Thanks.

Hello Syazwan,

First, I would like to inform you that the 8 kb limit applies to the ViewState compression and not to the HTTP compression. I'm afraid you can't set the desired threshold conditionally since when the HTTP compression is enabled in a point where the page doesn't exists yet. Thus I recommend you explicitly exclude the small pages to avoid scenarios, where the compression has no effect.
