I am getting a weird  "script16385 not implemented" error from both my current project and in Telerik's demo in the IE 9 dev console.

http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/captcha/examples/captchaaudiocode/defaultcs.aspx

I am currently using telerik 2011.3.1305.40.

Any ideas what is going on?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

I checked the online demo you mentioned, but I was not able to reproduce the reported problem. Please check this screen capture and let me know if I am missing something. A reliable steps for recreating the problem will be useful for examining it locally.

Is the audio of the RadCaptcha in the linked demo playing? If it is not,  I would suggest checking if you have installed the QuickTime plugin as it is needed to successfully run the audio files of RadCaptcha under Internet Explorer. In case it is not present, please install it and verify if the problem is resolved.

All the best,

Hello Slav,

I did some more checking after you said it was working fine and it turns out it is something related to IE 9 an compatibility mode. As soon as i clicked the button to enable compatibility mode the issue goes away. Obviously I can't rely on people to click compatibility mode. I hope that helps narrow down the problem.

Thanks for the help,
Chris

Hi Chris,

I tried to reproduce the problem under the described conditions, but to no avail. The RadCaptcha appears to be functioning properly in the online demo as well as in a sample page that I prepared to test the issue. Please check whether the problem is reproducible in the attached sample and if it is not, what changes should be made in order to match your scenario.

Is the issue encountered on page load or is it triggered on click of an element on the page, e.g. the link for the audio functionality of RadCaptcha?

As you have already examined, Jing is a quite useful screen capture tool and I would suggest utilizing it in order to record the steps that lead to the problem at hand. Note that Internet Explorer has a built in debugger that could be helpful in determining the exact part of the code that causes the problem. I would suggest including this in your recording as it will give additional information about the problem.

You can also test if the same behavior occurs on other machines. It is possible that the issue is related to your installation of Internet Explorer, for example due to corrupted plugins. If this is the case you can try resetting the browser to its default state. Is the QuickTime plugin available in your Internet Explorer, as you have not mentioned it in your reply? If it is not, please install it and let me know whether the problem persists.

Greetings,
