Hello,

The versions of iOS prior version 5 do not support rich text editing at all and a textbox is rendered instead of RadEditor. This means that if your client uses an older versions of iOS there isn't an alternative solution except of rendering a standard textbox on the place of RadEditor.

Kind regards,

Hi,

I am facing same issue with IOS 4.3.3
I have the latest Telerik DLLs version "2013.2.611.40"

The content appears as HTML. Telerik says prior to IOS 5 does not support rich text.

Just wondering, how JQuery plug-in works on IOS 4 ?

Expecting good explanation or work around.

Thanks

Hi,

We are aware of certain issues with editing RadEditor's content in old versions of iOS and will need more time for investigating the issue you are facing. For the time being you could use the approach from the following article - Support for iPhone / iPad browser.

Hi,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Will the time being approach suggested in the article "Support for iPhone / iPad browser." (http://www.telerik.com/support/kb/aspnet-ajax/editor/support-for-iphone-ipad-browser.aspx), show html as normal text?

Thanks

Hi,

The approach that is suggested in the "Support for iPhone / iPad browser." article is showing how to replace Telerik RadEditor with a standard TextBox control when the page is browsed from an iPhone.
The asp:TextBox is showing actually the HTML or whatever is set through its "Text" property. This is because the old versions of iOS prior version 5 have a limitation and do not support rich text editing. This could be seen also on the attached video where we've tested the jQuery plugin demo http://jqueryte.com/demos on iOS 4.
It is seen that neither the content area is editable nor the tools are working as expected.
That is the reason we prefer to render a text area instead of a non-functional control for IOS version prior 5.

Best Regards,
