Hello,
I’d like to add some buttons to RAD Editor lite.
Specifically, a symbols table, horizontal rule, and a media button.
I’m having trouble loading the scripts in the example provided on the website.
I’m unsure how to debug this so I ask of you to tell me if this is a limitation on your side or mine.
Thanks.

Hi Robert,
Do you mean the RadEditor for MOSS Lite? The Lite version of the MOSS editor is intended to serve only as a cross-browser replacement for the original rich text editor. That is why we have removed most of the code for the tools, which are not included in the default configuration. If you try to add more tools in the Lite version, you will get an error popup when you try to use them.
You need to download and deploy the full featured RadEditor for MOSS. This version is not limited in any way so you can modify the toolbar and add the extra buttons.
Sincerely yours,
Paul

The full featured RadEditor requires a license correct?
I saw some functionality to add buttons, what I want to ask is if I wanted to create a ‘symbol’ table. Like a character map, I was wondering if the RadEditor (full) could easily facilitate that.
Thanks.

Hi Robert,
Yes, the full featured RadEditor requires a license. You can download its trial version from here and test it.
You can see which tools are available in the Lite and in the Full versions of RadEditor for MOSS in the following pdf file:
http://www.telerik.com/documents/RadEditorMOSS_Feature_Comparison.pdf
The Insert Special Character dropdown, the Insert Horizontal Ruler and the Media manager dialog are only available in the Full featured version of RadEditor for MOSS.
You can find more information about the MOSS editor in the help: http://www.telerik.com/help/radeditormoss/.

Question,
I downloaded the RadEditor Lite for MOSS and saw how it can be used instead of the content editor web part.
My question is:
Does the RadEditor replace just the content editor web part in MOSS, or does it supplant all instances of a rich text editor in MOSS.
Rich text editors also surface in list and library columns, not just in the content editor web part.
Thank you.
