Hi,

I have succesfully connected a SSAS 2012 OLAP Cube with PivotGrid component with ADOMD connection. However, I'm having difficulties with displaying a parent-child hierarchy, which has a self-referencing field. PivotGrid seems to flatten my hierarchy and it's not showing hierachical summaries as Excel PivotTable component.

Should parent-child hierarchies work with PivotGrid? Will it be available in the future?

Best Regards,
Mikko Luukkonen

Hello Mikko,

We have made a bug fix related to RadPivotGrid OLAP Hierarchical fields which will be made available in our next internal build (17 December). You could download it and observe if the issue still persists and contact us if any problem arise.

Note that if you still experience the same problem it would be of great help if you send us a video or screenshots to indicate what is the exact problem and provide us with step by step instructions on how to replicate the problem. Additionally, you could take a look at the demo below and check if you could reproduce the behavior there.

Hello,

You could download internal builds of Telerik products from the link provided below. Select RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX from the drop down list and download the available zip file from the Available Downloads.

I can now see a parent-child hierarchy with the latest internal build. PivotGrid seems to function a bit quicker as well. There's definitely progress with the component.

I see some issues with the hierarchy:

- After seventh level the structure seems to get flattened and data gets impossible to read.

- Summaries are not rolled-up to the highest level. In my data it looks like summaries are rolled-up from eight level until sixth level, but totals for levels 1 to 5 are not displayed.

- I have also found some issues related to displaying multiple measures in a grid. Somehow with the hierarchy applied I'm not allowed to add second measure to the grid.

Hello,

The described issues are not straightforward to replicate. In such cases we recommend opening a formal support ticket and uploading a sample project showing the unwanted behavior with steps to replicate the problem so we could investigate them and provide solutions.
