Hi

We are SilverLight ReportViewer and displaying pie charts in the reports. The pie chart is not being displayed sometimes when seen in the reportviewer but when saved to pdf we are able to see all the pie charts in the reports. Please find the attached screenshots for furthur reference and let us know if anything has to be done from our end.

And the behaviour is inconsistent in reportviewer, so its not reproducible always.

Thanks in advance
Ravindra

Hello Ravindra,

Generally intermittent errors are the hardest to track down and that is why if you continue to have problems, we would appreciate if you take the time to narrow down the steps that cause the issue or provide us with a runnable sample which reproduces the error.

Hi Rahul,

Which report viewer do you use? If the Silverlight report viewer, make sure you have configured the WCF report service correctly as explained in the Hosting WCF Service in IIS help article. For additional information, check the Images, Charts, Barcodes and Shapes are not being displayed in the Silverlight report viewer KB article.

All the best,

Hi Steve,

This issue still persists in our system as pointed out by Ravindra (our earlier resource who posted this issue).

Please refer to attached screenshots (Report1.png & Report2.png). In the first screen shot, if we observe, two pie chart images are not displayed in report viewer but however, when i manually copy these images urls and paste in browser then, i am able to see images. So, can you please help us in resolving this?

Thanks,
Chandra

Hello Chandra,

We noticed that you are using the now obsolete Chart report item. In general, we recommend switching to the new Graph report item instead.

If the Chart item is rendered fine in the exported formats, but is missing in the Silverlight Report Viewer, this may be due to missing resource endpoint for the Telerik Reporting WCF Service that is responsible for serving all images. If following the Images, Charts, Barcodes and Shapes are not being displayed in the Silverlight report viewer KB article does not help you may want to try the Graph item as suggested above. You can also test to add some shapes or images to the report and check if they behave in the same way as the Chart item.

Note that without a recognizable pattern or a sample project exhibiting the issue, it would be very hard to reproduce let alone fix such issue. Any additional information would be highly appreciated.

Nasko
