Is there a performance difference between the the controls from 2.0, to 3.5 to 5?

The versions of our AJAX controls for .NET 2, NET 35 and NET 4 framework are mutually compatible and utilize the new features/performance enhancements introduced with each release of the .NET framework. Thanks for the links. They had some usefull tips.  What I was really looking for was whether there was significant performance increase between the versions, So I can make a descision to upgrade the controls and framework.
