It appears that the lite version doesn't create semantic paragraph tags and instead you have to do BR BR to get the same look.

It looks as if the full version fixes this.

I can appreciate leaving some features out (as you need some compelling reason for people to upgrade) but this seems like an odd one to leave out.

If we use the lite version for a month and then upgrade to the full version, will it automatically 'fix' the BR BR tags and replace them with proper P tags? Or do we have to live with the semantically bad BR BR for any content entered with the lite version?

Hi,

I think that you should be able to control the behavior of the editor (<p> or <br> tags) by setting the NewLineBr property. Here is some information about it - http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet/editor/UsingTheNewLineBrProperty.html

If I am not mistaken, the 4.41 Lite editor supports this property. You can set it via the editor's configuration file.

Thank you for such a quick reply!

Quick question regarding modifying the configuration files...I assume we need to modify every configuration file on every machine on the farm? Or is there one 'source' server that the control looks at for it's configuration settings?

Hello,

Yes, you need to modify the configuration files on each server. What you can do is create a batch job, which will simply copy the files from one server to the others. This way you can make changes to only one front-end web server and propagate them to the others quickly.

Excellent! This works!

If I may make another suggestion: Set this to FALSE by default on install.

Most web developers would prefer that the editor make as semantic HTML as possible. It's great that this is a feature that we can turn on, but it'd be even nicer if it was on by default. I'm sure I'll upgrade the product at some point and forget to reset this ;o)
