HI Telerik

Is it possible to play video files using radmediaplayer in browsers that are not HTML5 compatible? Like the control can make use of flash plug-ins installed on the browser to play videos if it does not support HTML5.

Hi Ben,

I guess you are asking for the Flash fallback support. Currently RadMediaPlayer has no flash fallback support (Cannot use Adobe Flash to play media files in browsers that are not HTML5 compatible). This is something which is still in the research phase and Telerik will be working on it and cannot commit as yet to providing this feature for the next quarterly release.

Hope this helps,
Shinu.

Hello Markus,

This feature is already implemented in the latest release version. For older browsers which don't support HTML5 natively, Internet Explorer 8 and 7 in particular, the player provides a Flash fallback method to play the video or audio file by rendering a Flash object:

Hope this helps.
