Hi,

Go to :
http://www.telerik.com/DEMOS/ASPNET/Prometheus/Window/Examples/DemoEmail/DefaultCS.aspx

Scroll all the way down in the browser, now click on "john smith" in the grid. Look at the placement of the RadWindow!. Is it possible to override this behaviour ? Worst still, if you have made this window Modal, it is impossible to scroll (even to close the Window).

My Question is how can I control the placement ? I have situation where I was it in the center of the screen. Is there a workaround ?

Also I might add that I am using RadWindow without RadWindowManager, but radWindow.moveTo() just doesn't work. I tried to move Radwindow to Center in the even "OnClientPageLoad" but unfortunately "moveTo" doesn't work either. is it because of RadWindow being Standalone (without manager) ?

Hi nickWorld,

The incorrect positioning was reported and promptly fixed. The current Prometheus Futures build features a properly working RadWindow. Please have a look at the [same] Futures demo:

http://www.telerik.com/DEMOS/ASPNET/Prometheus-Futures/Window/Examples/DemoEmail/DefaultCS.aspx

You can find more info about the Futures build here:

Please excuse us for the inconvenience.

Best wishes,

Hi Tervel,

What do you expect us to do ??? Jump from Version to Version for this kind of small fixes ? THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE MAIN Suite.

Now you are telling to release the BETA OF the BETA(Prometheus) ?

What is your policy on versioning ? Do you think that Prometheus should be used in Production or NOT ??

I am working at a PRODUCTION application and DON'T EXPECT ME TO JUMP FROM VERSION to VERSIONS for a small fix as positioning. I WANT IT IN THE MAIN PRODUCT ITSELF.

Hello Nick,

Please, excuse us for any misunderstanding we might have caused.
This fix will be present in the main suite as well in less than 2 weeks - when the Q3 release is scheduled. If you need to have this problem fixed earlier, you can follow Tervel's advice and use the "Futures" release.

I would like to stress out something that is mentioned  in the forum thread that Tervel provided: the new “Futures” build introduces a preview of several key additions to the “Prometheus” suite – RadGrid, RadMenu, RadCombobox and RadUpload. It shows the progress we made on porting these controls in the "Prometheus" suite, but it also includes the latest fixes that we made for the other controls that are already there - including RadWindow.

Regarding your last question, I believe the FAQ section about RadControls "Prometheus" will answer most of your
inquiries. For convenience I am pasting the main points below:

  • “Prometheus” components will be in beta until Q1 2008 in March. Even though components are in Beta, you can safely use them in production applications and benefit from brand new “Prometheus” products such as RadScheduler, RadToolTip, RadColorPicker, RadSlider and the new versions of RadEditor, RadChart, RadAjax, RadDock, RadWindow, RadCalendar, RadInput and RadSplitter
  • The suite will leave beta once all current products in RadControls for ASP.NET have “Prometheus” counterparts
  • RadControls “Prometheus” will be different from the RadControls for ASP.NET in terms of features
  • Our plans for “Prometheus” are subject to change depending on your feedback – our goal is to serve you well and if our plans are not OK for the larger part of our customers, we will change course.

I will be glad to answer any other questions you may have regarding our products.
