Hi Ben,
At present it is not possible to create a modal tooltip. A couple of people already expressed the same request, so it was logged in our TODO list for the tooltip. It is very likely that modal functionality will be added to the tooltip soon.
To achieve the same effect now, you can use the tooltip beforeshow and hide events to make a page modal while the tooltip is visible on the page (of course, that would require adding a bit of code too).

I would also love to see this functionality added. Preferably it would cover the screen in a dark transparent layer and position the tooltip in the middle of the screen.
The ajaxtoolkit modal popup is useless as it doesn't have any loadondemand functionality.
I guess it's not really a "tooltip", more of a popup layer but the functionality is very similar to a tooltip.

Hi Raj,
As mentioned before, our developers are working on this feature. However, I cannot tell you when exactly it will be available. Most probably, it will be implemented for the official release in September.

This feature is not in the current Q2 release, but it is with high priority in our ToDo list and we will do our best to provide it for the service pack that will appear after 2 weeks.
